Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs #review

TITLE: Iron Kissed
AUTHOR: Patricia Briggs
SERIES: Mercy Thompson #3
DATE: January 2nd,2008
PAGES: 287
ISBN: 9780441015665
SOURCE: bought
PURCHASE: Iron Kissed (Mercy Thompson #3)

Summary from Goodreads:

Iron Kissed by Patricia Brigs

I could smell her fear, and it satisfied something deep inside me that had been writhing under her cool, superior gaze. I curled my upper lip so she could get a good look at my sharp teeth. I might only weigh thirty or so pounds in my coyote shape, but I was a predator...

Mechanic Mercy Thompson can shift her shape - but not her loyalty. When her former boss and mentor is arrested for murder and left to rot behind bars by his own kind, it's up to Mercy to clear his name, whether he wants her to or not.

Mercy's loyalty is under pressure from other directions, too. Werewolves are not known for their patience, and if Mercy can't decide between the two she cares for, Sam and Adam may make the choice for her...

My Thoughts:
I can't say that I was too happy with this one. I will give it a 5/5 because I love the story line and some parts were beyond great for me.
Zee and Uncle Mike call in the debt that Mercy owes them for use of the medallion that she used to kill not one but two vamps in the last book Blood Bound. There is someone killing Fae and Mercy has a great nose in coyote form. So she goes traipsing off with Zee to smell the murder scenes and see if there is a scent that was at all of the murders. She ends up only searching the last and the first two, but soon figures out exactly who it was killing the Fae.
Zee and Uncle Mike go to have a little "chat" with the killer and find that the human is already dead. Zee is picked up on murder and it seems that the Fae are content to let him take the fall. So even after being told to stay out of it by Uncle Mike ( he should really know better), Mercy takes it upon herself to go to the murderer's home and sniff out what she can. While there she learns a few things and meets a crow ( who you just know is Fae).
Once Mercy figured everything out, I was upset with the path that things went down; though I can understand it. And really PROPS to Mercy for the way she took care of that one!!

The side story of this book is all about Mercy needing to choose between Adam; Alpha of the local pack who has already claimed her as his mate in the pack, and Samuel; first love and werewolf. I really am glad that she made a choice in the end and I am happy with her choice even though I do love them both.
There were a lot of tears on my end in the last few chapters of the book, but it is a great read and I couldn't put it down!!

Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs #Review

TITLE: Blood Bound
AUTHOR: Patricia Briggs
SERIES: Mercy Thompson #2
DATE: January 30th,2007
PAGES: 292
ISBN: 9780441014736
SOURCE: bought
PURCHASE: Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson #2)

Summary from Goodreads:

Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs

Under the rule of science, there are no witch burnings allowed, no water trials or public lynchings. In return, the average law-abiding, solid citizen has little to worry about from the things that go bump in the night. Sometimes I wish I was an average citizen...

Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind.

But this new vampire is hardly ordinary-and neither is the demon inside of him.

My Thoughts:

While I wasn't expecting a whole heck of a lot of drama in the second book in this series. I was hoping for a little more towards the end.
Mercy, gets a call from her vamp "friend" Stephan to accompany him on a little field trip. He calls her because she can shift into coyote form and most magic works differently on her than others. So her a Stephan make a trip to visit another vampire whom has not asked for permission to be in the area. While there it is not a great time for Mercy or Stephan because it turns out that the vamp in question is a sorcerer and has semi control of a demon.
The Sorcerer vamp be-spells Stephan and makes him believe that he is the one that killed the maid in the room. Mercy is in a harness and leash and can not escape and ends up getting hurt by the demon ridden vamp.
Eventually Mercy is called to the Seethe by the vamp mistress and ends up sitting in a magical chair that with the help of Wulfe can tell truth from a lie. After the mistress hears what really happens she allows Stephan to hunt this sorcerer vamp and Stephan takes two wolves from Adam's pack, Warren and Ben.
Ben and Stephan are captured by the Sorcerer vamp and Warren is badly wounded. Of course you know that Mercy is ticked and wants to hunt him, so when the vamp mistress asks for her help and gives her use of Andre ( vamp mistress's left hand man), Mercy has no problem accepting the "challenge".
Zee and Uncle Mike give Mercy a vamp killing kit that includes a medallion that will cause the vamp it is used on to go up in flames once Mercy speaks it's name.
After a little research on her own and the fact that she can see ghosts, Mercy figures out the vicinity that the sorcerer vamp is in and then it occurs to her that someone had to make this vamp and she comes to the conclusion that it was Andre.
I won't spoil the entire book, but in the end almost all is well and Mercy does something that in the long run could cost her her life.

Zoobies Review & #giveaway (8/10) US

This Review/Giveaway is done by Kathy's Freebies & Savings

My daughters are huge animal fans. They both have there own stuffed animals that they sleep with at night, as well as there own blankets. You try to take either away from my youngest daughter (Tesla) and she gets very upset. I don't think my kids will ever be able to part from there stuffed animals and blankets.

I'm sure you have all heard of the pillow pets before right? Well, the zoobies are similar to the pillow pets, but in my opinion they are much better. Zoobies blanket pets are pets, blankets, and pillows, all in one. They have a huge selection of pets to choose from.

I chose Pugs the Pooch to review. Both of my daughters really love dogs, so I thought this would be the perfect choice for them. The pet is very soft and the head is very squishy. It's actually made out of microbeads, which would be why it's so squishy. The pooch has a zipper pouch that keeps the blanket inside. I was extremely surprised at the size of the blanket. I thought it was going to be small. It was actually a decent size. Sizing of the blankets are about 44" by 34", perfect for nap time. My oldest daughter (Mercades) sleeps with the blanket pet at night. I would have to say that she really loves the pooch. This will make a perfect travel buddy for my kids, when we take long trips too.

Zoobies have more then just the blanket pets. They also have Book Buddies, Duffel Dogs, Storytime Pals, Blankie Babies, and Slumber Pets. You can purchase one of the Zoobies HERE. Right now they are offering 20% off with the coupon code: PARENTHOOD.

But wait, there's more. Zoobies is offering one of my readers a blanket pet of there own. Just enter in the rafflecopter below!

available in a 3.5 lb. bag and is a unique combination of seven seafood sources
that provide more of the building blocks of lean muscle.

research we do for our pet foods is done with dogs and cats in either homes or

with local humane societies to ensure that we bring you quality foods that
adhere to the highest standards of pet nutrition.

I was happy to be able to review a product that was healthy and all natural for my cats. I have four beautiful cats that I think of as my kids. Ghost is 11, Princess is Ghost's daughter and is 8, Gizzy & Honey are 6 and sisters. My cats love eating and sleeping. I got the By nature Seven Seafood dry food for them and when the box with there food got here I swear they knew the box was for them before I even opened it. I got the bags out and set them in a chair for a picture and the cats kept trying to get into the food while I was trying to take the picture. I then opened a bag and gave them some like I would with cat treats and they loved it. I then put the cat food in a dish and put it next to the cat food I already put out. The By Nature Seven Seafood dish got empty before the food I was feeding them. I can tell they like the By Nature Seven Seafood better. I then took a bag over to my mom's house and she has four cats too. I know her cats are picky eaters so I put some of the By Nature Seven Seafood down and her cats liked it too. We both are over a week in feeding our cats By Nature Seven Seafood and we can feel a difference in our cats fur. My mom just ordered more of the  By Nature cat food for our cats.
