Self-proclaimed nobody CG Silverman sees her move to an upscale new school as her chance to be somebody different. Her devil-may-care attitude attracts the in-clique, and before CG realizes it, a routine game of truth or dare launches her to iconic status.
While this rebel image helps secure CG's newfound popularity, it also propels her through a maze of unprecedented chaos, with each new lie and every dare opening doors that, in most cases, were better off left shut.
CG is on a collision course with disaster. Will she be able to keep up the fa├žade? Or will the whole world find out she's a fraud?

My thoughts:

I absolutely LOVED It Started With A Dare. I may be out of high school and older then the target audience, but I could relate with CG and the things she did and said to stay in the with popular crowd.
Mrs. Rech did a fantastic job of putting the reader in high school with CG, Sammie, Grace, and Anola. I couldn't walk away from the book for more than five minutes at a time.
I believe that some of the things that CG did may have been a little over the top for a 10th grader, but who am I to say what goes on in most popular cliques?  I do know that I wouldn't want my 12 year old reading this but I feel that it would be a great read for 16+. There is some harsh language and the things that are done and set up are things I hope my girls never do, but in the long run things are put right and there is a happy ending.
